MANILA, PHILIPPINES – The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) partners with GCash to introduce a hassle-free and convenient payment system for its events and productions.

Leveraging GCash’s extensive reach and digital platform, CCP inked a deal with one of the leading mobile wallets in the Philippines to make CCP’s shows more accessible to a bigger audience.

“We are thrilled to partner with GCash. This collaboration will help streamline CCP’s operations and provide valuable data to optimize our offerings. At CCP, we are always looking for ways to enhance the experience for our patrons, subscribers, and audiences by providing them with a secure, seamless, and faster way to access our events. This is an exciting step as we continue to innovate and connect with audiences in the digital age,” CCP President Kaye C. Tinga said.

The new partnership introduces more convenient, cashless, and hassle-free payment solutions for CCP’s patrons, eliminating the need for standing in long queues and using physical cash. Attendees can conveniently use GCash to pay admission for their chosen shows or events, making it easier for both local and international audiences.

GCash’s Scan to Pay service will be deployed at various CCP venues and partner locations, streamlining CCP’s ticket purchasing process, merchandise transactions, and other services. Customers will be able to make payments by simply scanning a QR code displayed at designated Scan to Pay sites.

To become more inclusive, the new payment system also caters to non-GCash users as it allows payments from other mobile baking apps and other QR payment tools.

With over 40 million GCash users nationwide, this partnership opens up CCP’s events and productions to a larger, more diverse audience, particularly younger, tech-savvy individuals who may be new to the world of arts and culture.

This partnership marks a forward-thinking approach for CCP, as it embraces the digital transformation in the performing arts sector while making cultural performances more accessible to people from all walks of life.

GCash, a Philippine mobile payments service owned by Globe Fintech Innovations, Inc. and operated by GXI, has been at the forefront of transforming the financial landscape in the Philippines. Since its launch in 2004 as an SMS-based money transfer service and its transition to a mobile app in 2012, GCash has become a widely used payment method for retail and event services nationwide.
