HONG KONG – Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC) announced today the appointment of Ms. Rainy Chan as the new Executive Director, with effect from 3 February 2025.
Ms. Rainy Chan has more than 20 years of profound management and operational experience gained from international corporations, demonstrating global horizons, strong leadership acumen, and adeptness in collaborating with diverse business stakeholders across various sectors.
Formerly the Chief Operating Officer of Chanintr Living in Bangkok, Ms. Chan excelled in fostering a rich service culture and delivering exceptional customer experiences. A 23-year veteran of The Peninsula Hotels, Ms Chan has held key leadership positions in Hong Kong, Chicago, New York and Bangkok, culminating in her role as Regional Vice President and General Manager of The Peninsula Hong Kong. Leveraging her extensive knowledge, experience, and robust network within the fast-paced industry, Ms. Chan is poised to lead the HKDC’s team in adapting to design trends in a dynamic environment and offering fresh perspectives to the organisation.
In addition to her professional achievements, Ms. Chan’s commitment to community engagement shines through her involvement in different impactful roles. She has served on the Board of Directors for Make-A-Wish Hong Kong and as a Board Member and Co-Opted Member for the major development of Hong Kong Ocean Park. Ms. Chan’s deep-rooted commitment in community service and her track record of leadership in various philanthropic endeavours highlight her ability to work effectively with diverse people, drive positive change and make a positive impact on society.
Prof. Eric Yim, Chairman of Hong Kong Design Centre, expressed his enthusiasm about Ms. Chan’s appointment, stating that the Board of Directors was confident that Rainy’s extensive experience in business sectors and community engagement is poised to lead HKDC, particularly in moving forward with innovative ideas for the newly launched DX design hub. “We are delighted to welcome Rainy to Hong Kong Design Centre.
